My brother and his wife and kids stayed the night on Friday and I cooked breakfast on the Blackstone! After breakfast, it was time to work, they attacked the greenhouse first! There were about 2 inches of broken glass on top of the sand when we first got there. The previous owner said a hail storm had taken out the lower portion of the greenhouse which he replaced with solid roofing. So they were all hunched over picking up shards of glass for the first part of the morning.

We pulled out all of the plants currently growing in there and got as much as we could cleaned up and pulled out.
When we were moving things around, we discovered a blue-tailed skink!

| Riley is the lizard guy! He was pumped! |

Later that day, we had two of our friends, Brooke & Jake, over to check out the place!
 |
| Sean and his dad, made this bench! |
 |
| The doggos love each other! |
We discovered even more beautiful natural wonders all over the property!
I highly recommend using the app called Seek. It can help you identify local species of plants and animals!

We needed a 20 foot trailer and adaquet truck to be able to haul some wood that we found for sale on Facebook marketplace. The wood is 130+ year old reclaimed wood from an old granery in Kaukauna that was now sitting in someones garage in Door County. The family wanted to use the space as an art studio and wanted to get rid of the wood. As a result it was listed for an insanely good price. She had many people back out on her or only want to take a few boards. We were the only ones crazy enough to take it all! (Or at least we tried to).
We tried to rent a trailer, but realized the truck we had wouldn't be enough to haul it. The only truck and trailer we knew we could get was back in Chetek (3.5 hour drive each way) and I was so exhausted from the week we just had I even pleaded with Sean to just be done for the weekend and rest today instead of driving around the state. He insisted this wood would be worth it so I pull myself up by the bootstraps and got comfy for the ride. (just like Ozzy)
We got to Door County around 10pm. We loaded each board one by one with the help of this older man and his daughter. We finished around midnight. Which meant we got home on Sunday night around 3am. We got up at 6am to haul the wood off of the trailer. I don't think I've ever been this exhausted before. I was so BEAT. It was a long day of driving, let alone hauling the wood. TWICE.
Sean fought for this wood. Everyone including myself was ready to give up and said it was too much of a hassle. Boy am I glad that Sean held his ground because this wood is beautiful!! We've already used it for SO many projects around the house!! (compost bin, stairs, raft for the river, countertop, workbench, shelving, cabinets, water tower
Getting the wood was well worth the exhaustion the followed! Stay tuned for more Whimsy Dome adventures in the next one!
